Learn to Oil Paint - with Sue Warne ACI - Alexander Certified Instructor

From Novices To Competent Artists in just one lesson !

If these novices can produce such lovely oil paintings, you can rest assured that you can too!  Would you like to try a class?  Are you worried that you won't be able to produce a nice painting?  I offer a money back guarantee to all first time students.  If you are not happy with your results then just leave your canvas with me and I will give you a full refund.  You are in the competant hands of an Alexander Certified Instructor, a certification course named after Bill Alexander.  Among Bill's many students was Bob Ross, who still appears on TV today with his Joy of Painting show.

BarbaraTake a look at Barbara.  This painting was spoken for before it was even created.  One of Barbara's children will be the proud owner of their mum's work (if she can bear to part with it).  Here you'll see Barbara in the final 20 minutes of her almost complete oil painting.   If you ask Barbara about her artistic skills she doesn't hesitate in telling you she has problems drawing simple stick men.   Hard to believe, isn't it?  6 months after this class Barbara was taking part in an exhibition alongside me and almost a hundred other artists - Barbara sold 4 of her paintings.

Here's Justin!  It's hard to believe this was Justin's first go at oil painting too.  Just by following my simple step by step guide he left my class with this waterfall scene.  The painting was popped into a very ornate gilt frame and I understand Justin will be hanging this in his dining room.  What will his dinner guests say when he tells them he painted this himself?  I think the smile says it all..........

yvonnesclouds
These are Yvonne's lovely clouds....this was taken very early on in the 'Spring Reflections' workshop.  These subtle effects are so quick and easy to achieve using the wet on wet technique.  You'll be eager to have a go for yourself when you get home.  This is a very addictive hobby......

tom

This is a small section of Tom's painting.  The foliage effects he has made using a 1 inch paintbrush speak for themselves.  He's a natural with this brush.  Tom made an 8 hour round trip to attend the Mangrove Oasis Class - that's dedication!  The background trees in this mangrove really make they foreground greenery show up well.

Here's a snap of Tom's finished Mangrove Oasis.  His family were full of lovely comments when he arrived home with it and his sister would like to accompany him on his next class.  Tom's attended several classes since - both with myself and with Darrell Crow, a guest Instructor from the USA.

Sandra, deep in thought.......... this first timer took the class as a challenge.  She confessed to having no artistic talent whatsoever.  Now THAT's my IDEAL student.  5 hours later she returned home with a painting to WOW her family.

Here's Alan's 'Scotch Mist' painting, above on the right.  An apt name as he travelled from Aberdeen and spent a week with me combining private classes with scheduled painting classes, making the very best of both worlds.  Plus he enjoyed the Suffolk countryside and the scenes it had to offer.

wendy

Here you can see Wendy's finished painting - Wendy was a first time student and this painting took her about 4 and a half hours from start to finish - that includes 2 coffee breaks and lunch!

Wendy says 'What a fantastic course you run.  I am a cynical, mid forties, fussy female that was looking to learn a lot in a class.  I came along today and was amazed to return home with a painting even I would hang on the wall.  I am definately coming again.'

Here's some snaps taken from recent classes - it helps to give you an idea how things go.

In class I use exactly the same canvas, paint and brushes as my students.  The students gather round to watch me demonstrate a small bite-sized step then return to their own workstation to paint that step on their own canvas.

I then visit you all at your workstation to make sure everything goes just
iamthere right for you.  If I can see some wonderful little happenings occur in your paintings, I help you to make the most of your own individuality.

Many people remark on the friendliness of my classes.  They are far from formal, you can work at your own speed and you can relax among friends.

There's really no age restriction for these classes.  My youngest student, so far, is 12 and my eldest student, as far as I know, is 83! andyxx

It always amazes the students how we all follow the same formula, the same step by step guides, yet very early on into the lesson the paintings look very different from each other.  Former student, Stacey, says 'Sue, I learned the technique from you and now I'm painting my way.  Many thanks for your guidance'

There is no way each person can mix their colours 100% the same as the next.  This means your painting will have it's own unique individuality.

Everyone has different pressures with their brush too.  There's no right or wrong way of doing this, there's just YOUR own way.
