Oil Painting Classes for beginners. The cost for most classes is just £45 per person. (Scroll down as some classes are cheaper). The price includes all materials and equipment necessary to complete your painting. Refreshments are also supplied but you might want to bring along a packed lunch. If you bring a friend/partner you can BOTH receive a £5 discount. Please wear durable clothes or bring along an apron/overall to protect your clothing. Monday, February 15th, 2010 from 10am to 3pm (ish). - 'Lightening Tree' - Venue: Apollo House, Capel St Mary, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP9 2JFThis was a very popular composition last year in classes and for private tuition. We paint this oil painting on a letterbox canvas measuring 8 x 20 inches. This contemporary peice does not need framing.  Thursday, February 18th, 2010 from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm (ish) - 'Contemplation' - Venue: Heartlands, Back Lane, Gipping, Nr Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 4RNAs this is a smaller painting project, the cost of the class is just £38. Sunday, February 21st, 2010 from 12.30pm to 5.30pm (ish) - 'Contemplation' - Venue: Village Hall, Capel St Mary, The Street, Nr Ipswich, Suffolk, IP9 2JFAs this is a smaller painting project, the cost of the class is just £38.  Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010 from 10am to 3pm (ish). - 'Remember a Day' - Venue: Apollo House, Capel St Mary, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP9 2JFThis tonal snowscene has the additional of distant characters - which adds a 'story' to the scene. They are optional but I haven't had a student yet to not pop the characters in.  Saturday, February 27th and Saturday 6th March, 2010 from 10am to 1.30pm approx - 'Venetia' - Venue: Apollo House, Capel St Mary, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP9 2JFThis is a 2 day project. Each lesson will run approx 3.5 hours. The cost of each lesson is £35 No experience necesary to complete this painting. The image on view here was made by one of my students. This is NOT my painting! Thursday, March 9th, 2010 from 10am to 3pm (ish). - 'A Peaceful Evening' - Venue: Apollo House, Capel St Mary, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP9 2JFThis snowscape painting lesson will demonstrate effects gained from your fan brush. You'll also learn some effects you can make with your transparent oils.  Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 from 10am to 3pm (ish). - 'POP ART PORTRAIT' - Venue: Apollo House, Capel St Mary, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP9 2JFThis is an acrylic workshop - which means your painting will be 100% dry to take home. You can paint the subject of your choice, any celebrity or family member - but you must let me know who you would like to paint well in advance. If you want to paint from a photo, you will need to email me the image a few days before the class - just to make sure your selection is do-able. Beware, once your family see your portrait you'll be in high demand to make more.  Thursday, March 18th, 2010 from 10am to 3pm (ish). - 'Sunbeams' - Venue: Apollo House, Capel St Mary, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP9 2JFThis mixed media painting lesson will demonstrate how you can use an acrylic base to prepare for a stunning landscape project .
