LEARN TO PAINT PORTRAITS
If you have always wanted to paint a traditional oil portrait but didn't really know where to start - look no further.
This might just be the class for you.......
Allow me to guide you step by step in simple and very easy to follow stages. Portrait classes are small with a maximum of 3 students.
Firstly, and most importantly - No drawing skills are necessary.
In your portraiture lessons I help you every inch of the way to completing your very own portrait in oils.
Portraiture can vary in length of time depending on many factors. How simple or detailed your subject is and the size of the canvas you want to work on will effect the number of lessons you will require. I would suggest, if it's your first time, to start with a relatively simple subject. This can be a family member, a friend - even your favourite celebrity. I can help you to select the best subject for your lesson.
Each portrait lesson is 3 hours long. Most simple portraits can be completed in 3 lessons.
In the photo to the left you will see a student working on her portrait. To her right you will see my portrait which I use to demonstrate the different stages.

Lesson one will cover canvas preparation, pencil image and underpainting. If we have time we can start on the background.
In lesson 2 we will work basic skin colours, highlights, shadows. We will work on some of the finer details. Depending on time, we could work on the background and clothing too.
In lesson 3 we can work some more on the finer details. It is quite possible to finish your painting within the 3 lessons.
Bookings can be made for groups of 1, 2 or 3 students at a time. The cost per lesson, per person, is £45 on weekdays or £65 per person, per lesson at weekends.

Totally absorbed in working on some finer details.

Enjoying the painting coming to life with the clever use of subtle shading.

Someone is going to be receiving a rather special Christmas present as this lady works on her grandson's portrait.

All done - amazing how rich just one more session can make a portrait, isn't it.
Here, my student has completed stages one and 2 - just one more session to go to enhance the finer details
If you would like to learn to paint portraits, do give me a ring on 01473 311938 and we can book in your first lesson. It is possible to paint for 3 (or more if necessary) consecutive days if you wish. Each stage must be dry before commencing further. Using a fast drying oil medium allows paintings to dry overnight. Alternatively you can paint once a week/fortnight/month, whichever is convenient to you.
Portrait classes are available from 10am to 1pm - 2pm to 5pm and 6pm to 9pm.
If you would like more details on these exciting new portraiture classes, feel free to call on 01473 311938 or drop me a line on info@ayoubart.co.uk
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Students' comments:
'If you can teach me to paint portraits you can teach ANYBODY! I'm thrilled with my portrait and my husband is very impressed' Wow - I can't believe how it looks just like (him)
I love it, can't wait till the next stage.
I can't believe I painted this myself - I really want to do some more
My family don't believe I painted this !
The portraiture classes are even better than I imagined. I can't believe the results happen so quickly.
